  • Come to School and Get Air! 

    All Harrah Panthers who miss five or fewer days in the first trimester will earn a free trip to Get Air in Yakima!

    Trunk or Treak

    Please join us for Trunk or Treat from 5-6 p.m. on Monday, October 30th in the Harrah parking lot. Staff and community members will be decorating their trunks to provide a safe, fun place to trick or treat. Please come join the fun! Costumes are welcome!

    PAX Leaders

    Every Friday, the staff at Harrah Elementary, recognizes several students who were recognized that week with a PAX Everywhere card. Students earn a PAX Everywhere card when they demonstrate behavior that reflects the PAX motto: "I better myself. I better my world. I am a PAX Leader". Winners receive a special prize and get to eat lunch with Principal Leslie!! Let's give a big Panther growl to this week's PAX Leaders!

    Community Meetings

    Come join us for a community meeting to discuss current events/issues happening in the White Swan School District. All scheduled meetings will begin at 6:00 p.m. Meetings held at the Harrah Elementary campus will be located in the cafeteria. Meetings held at the White Swan campus will be held in the high/middle library. The dates for the community meetings are:

    • November 1 (Harrah Elementary
    • December 6 (White Swan)
    • January 3 (Harrah) 
    • February 7 (White Swan)
    • March 7 (Harrah)
    • April 11 (White Swan) 
    • May 2 (Harrah)

     Pastries with Parents

    Join us every second Tuesday of the month from 7:30-8:30 in the Harrah Elementary gym for pastries and refreshments. This is a great opportunity to visit with other parents, meet building staff, and read with your student. It's also our way of saying "thank you" for all you do to support Harrah Elementary! Out next Pastries with Parents is November 14.

    Transformer Award

     

    We're proud of our staff and they amazing work they do! The Transformer Award travels from staff member to staff member for transforming practice to make school a better place for students, much like a PAX Everywhere Award. The current Transformer Award winner is: THE HARRAH KINDER TEAM! They received the transformer award for their optimism and willingness to serve some of our youngest students!

    Positive Indian Parenting Classes

    Time: 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. 

    Location: The Cottage at the White Swan campus

     

    Learning to parent positively considering our past and moving to the future, utilizing traditional parental skills, lesson of the Storyteller, the Cadleboard, and of Mother Nature. Together we will: 

    • Explore values and attitudes expressed in traditional Indian child-rearing practices, and apply those values to modern parenting skills. 
    • Develop positive and satisfying attitudes, values and skills that have roots in Indian cultural heritage. 
    • Promote growth and well-being of the Indian child through culturally-inspired, positive parenting. 

    A certificate will be awarded at the completion of all 8 lessons. 

    Classes will be facilitated by Peggy Sanchey and Stephanie Hull, and dinner will be provideed by the White Swan Arts and Recreation Community Coalition.
